Dumb Diary Wednesday: Stressed out 12 Year Old

"2-26-'90

Monday

Dear Diary,

You wouldn't

believe how much

stress I'm going

through! My Mom

thinks I should

get at least 45 min.

of piano practice

a day. Just tonight

Sofia called but

I couldn't talk

to her until I got

all of my home-

work done. I had

Math plus a novel

to read (which took me

until my bedtime

to read and I'm still

not done but thank

the Lord it's not due

till Wed. AND I never

got to call Sofia

back. So far I've

gotten 2 incompletes.

But I know I'll

be fine because I

all ready brought 1

up. Language- incomplete-

WILL bring up.

Love,

Krystal Booth

Dumb Diary Wednesday: Dreams become Reality!

"Age 12  Grade 6
Febuary 24, 1990 * Saturday * more than 1 ft. snow

Dear Diary,
Today was a magical
day where dreams
become reality. I got
tickets for Sofia and
I to go and see
 New Kids in concert!
The concert will
be at 7 pm on
July 7, sat. We got
seats on the front
side.  I can't wait
to talk to Sofia
tomorrow.
(she had
to go to
her Dad's house
for the weekend).
(Annie's not
going).  :(

I
Can't
Wait!

Today Annie
came over.  We
had fun!  This
may seem juvenile
but we played
in the snow and
made a snow-
fort. I felt like
a little kid!

Well I
gotta
go!

Love,
Krystal
Booth

(My fav.
New Kid
is
Danny
Wood)

He's cute!

...the importance of this moment is evident on the fact that I put down my age and grade for this entry.  It was a BIG FREAKING DEAL!!! hahaha!

Monday Madness: SO MANY GOALS!

So many different goals and things to accomplish!  Makes me think of these haunting Radiohead lyrics...

"Fitter, happier, more productive,
comfortable,
not drinking too much,
regular exercise at the gym
(3 days a week),
getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries,
at ease,
eating well
(no more microwave dinners and saturated fats),
a patient better driver,
a safer car
(baby smiling in back seat),
sleeping well
(no bad dreams),
no paranoia,
careful to all animals
(never washing spiders down the plughole),
keep in contact with old friends
(enjoy a drink now and then),
will frequently check credit at (moral) bank (hole in the wall),
favors for favors,
fond but not in love,
charity standing orders,
on Sundays ring road supermarket
(no killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants),
car wash
(also on Sundays),
no longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows
nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate,
nothing so childish - at a better pace,
slower and more calculated,
no chance of escape,
now self-employed,
concerned (but powerless),
an empowered and informed member of society
(pragmatism not idealism),
will not cry in public,
less chance of illness,
tires that grip in the wet
(shot of baby strapped in back seat),
a good memory,
still cries at a good film,
still kisses with saliva,
no longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick,
that's driven into frozen winter shit
(the ability to laugh at weakness),
calm,
fitter,
healthier and more productive
a pig in a cage on antibiotics."

(Lyrics by Radiohead from album "OK Computer" and the amazing and fun animated video was created by Pablo Iranzo)
PS: Yes, I was a day late on Monday Madness...oops!  :)

Psycho Drawings over Text

"Ashtray"

"Perhaps you should not be so secure."

"Snuggled"

I'm finding this desire to draw on book pages.  It's this wonderful desire I always had when I was a K-12 student.  I wanted to draw all over my textbook pages, but of course, being a "good student", I didn't indulge myself.  "Good" students don't do that.  It was a classroom taboo in elementary school especially, when my desire was at full strength.

Hooray to finally indulging in this "rebellious" act! hahaha!  ...even if it's not exactly a text book...

Dumb Diary Wednesday: Posters Coming to Life

"1-9-1990
Tues.

Dear Diary,
Today after
school I went to
Annie's house. Now
she has a crush
on Blake Johnson

YUK!

I have a crush
on Jordan Knight,
Danny Wood, and Joe
 McIntyre.  I know
I'll never meet
them but I really
think I would
fit in.  We could
really be good
friends.  Right now
I'm listening to
'This One's for the Children'
a million times.  It's by New
Kids on the Block.
I wish they could
come alive on my poster and
come and talk and sing
and of course teach me
a few dances.
Love,
Krystal Booth"

At least 'Annie' had a crush on a person she actually knew...just sayin'.  lol
